Velvet Pavilion

Welcome to The Velvet Pavilion. Sometimes, a project comes along that challenges you and changes everything. This was the biggest, most complex, and most expensive journey we have ever taken at Berlinski Design. When we first saw this private house in Amsterdam, it was only half built. While a talented architect designed the striking exterior of the building, our studio took charge of the entire interior vision. We took that raw shell, expanded it, and breathed life into every single room, turning it into a truly magical family estate. A project of this scale requires absolute precision. To make sure everything looked and functioned exactly as it should, we carefully planned and created all the detailed electrical, lighting, and contractor working plans. Every light and detail was placed with intention.
The ground floor is all about connection, light, and beautiful materials. From the moment you step into the entrance, unique lava stone floors guide you through the massive open living room. To ensure absolute comfort, the entire house features underfloor heating, making every step feel warm and inviting. We created a huge kitchen crafted from warm solid wood and stunning travertine marble, where the family can cook, laugh, and host friends. This entire space features beautiful, large windows that flood the home with natural daylight and connect the indoors with the outside. Just steps away, we designed a luxurious master suite. As you enter the master bedroom and the stunning walk in closet, the floors transition to high quality PVC, creating a quiet foundation for this private sanctuary. To make the attached bathroom feel like a boutique hotel, we wrapped the spaces entirely in beautiful travertine marble, alongside a deep bathtub and a spacious shower. Stepping into the garden feels like leaving the city behind. The entire outdoor area is beautifully covered with a warm wooden deck, framing a stunning swimming pool and a relaxing jacuzzi. We even designed a special Pool House. Inside it, there is a cozy guest unit and a private gym with a perfect view of the water.
Walking up the beautiful natural wood stairs, you reach the top floor, which is mostly dedicated to the kids while also serving as a practical hub for the home. It features a fun living room and a small kitchen just for the younger generation. There are four bedrooms in total, and almost every bedroom has its own attached private bathroom, continuing the rich feel of the travertine marble, giving everyone their own comfortable space. The area feels incredibly open and bright, thanks to several beautiful skylights we placed along the long corridor. Alongside the kids area, this floor also houses a smart laundry room and a peaceful home office to make everyday life easy and organized. Beyond the design, we are so proud that this home is kind to our planet. It is extremely environmentally friendly and powered by solar panels, proving that you can have ultimate luxury while still caring for the environment. The Velvet Pavilion is more than just architecture; it is a feeling. It was a huge challenge, but seeing this family live and grow in their dream home makes every second of hard work totally worth it.
