"This project seems to be an extraordinary one. Tell me about it."

It is indeed. I had the honor of working on three dental practices of the same owner. This one is her favorite.
The main request was simple: 'Make this place look beautiful'.

"Sounds so easy, right?"

Yes, but obviously, it wasn't. It was a delightful process, though, but indeed not easy.
At first, the owner asked me to redesign only the dark looking front reception and waiting room. There weren't any windows except for a slightly old-fashioned glass wall that didn't contribute much. This room definitely needed more light.

"What are the options when you want a place to look brighter?"

We can add some more ceiling lighting, of course. We can create an illusion of a more spacious space by using a deep perspective wallpaper, and we can paint the walls white. All of these were implemented to help intensify the lighting. In addition, I used the two existing electrical points on the wall to place six lamps instead of the primary two. The wires of the lamps are wrapped with a rope to create a 'close-to-nature' effect.

"Seems that there is a lot of nature in this dental practice."

That's right. The small inner garden of the clinic gave me the inspiration. Its trees and those on the wallpaper correspond with each other, continuously completing the view.
You can quickly notice that the reception desk was made with vertical wooden reeds, so everything was designed with natural materials to reflect the natural scheme.

"Even in the toilet!"

The toilet was designed with the same natural scheme - bamboo and natural materials as much as possible. The original sink was left untouched, and a compact wooden shelf was added.

"What other significant changes were made during the renovation process?"

A crucial structural change was made by adding a new room for the clinic's staff. They didn't have this function before, and I'm so happy I insisted on this. The team is satisfied with it, too.
I am also very fond of the chairs in the waiting room - four forest-green and two rattan chairs. The rattan chairs correspond with the bamboo adorned lamps on the wall. Together they contribute so much to the serene, harmonious atmosphere.

"Absolutely not what you would expect from a dental clinic."

Right, and that's why the owner likes it so much. The place’s carefully chosen atmosphere reduces the possible don't-like-dentists stress.

"And it works. The place looks non-threatening and welcoming, with its calm, natural colors and plenty of light. "

Yes, these were our intentions, and I'm pleased with the outcome.
